If you’ve got a near-empty jam jar and some softening blackberries, you’ve got the makings for our Jam Jar Witch’s Bramble - the perfect spooky cocktail to enjoy while watching scary movies (or ghost-hunting). No shaker needed and minimal clean up.
Ingredients
- Near-empty jar of jam
- 35g of blackberries (or other soft berries)
- ½ a lime
- 1 measure of gin or non-alcoholic spirit
- ½ measure of blackberry liquor, if you have it at home
- Ginger ale to top
- Ps. if you like things sweeter, you can add a dash of maple syrup or honey.
Method
- Muddle your blackberries into the bottom of your jar using a wooden spoon (or use a muddler, if you have one).
- Fill your jar with ice, add your gin, lime juice, blackberry liquor and shake well.
- Pour into a short glass of your choice, fill to top with ginger ale and garnish with a strip of lime peel.
There you have it - a simple, surplus-using drink that can be enjoyed as a cocktail or a mocktail and looks beguilingly purple.
