Too Good To Go Named on the Time100 Most Influential Companies 2022Too Good To Go Named on the Time100 Most Influential Companies 2022
The TIME100 Most Influential Companies list, picked by its editors, highlights the 100 companies making an extraordinary impact around the world
31st March 2022 - Too Good To Go, the world’s largest food-waste app has been recognised for its work in providing solutions to the global food waste challenge, with a place on the https://time.com/collection/time100-companies-2022/.
To assemble the list, TIME solicited nominations from business sectors - ranging from healthcare and entertainment to transportation and technology - from their editors and correspondents around the world, as well as from industry experts. Then, TIME editors evaluated each one on key factors, including relevance, impact, innovation, leadership and success.
“We have always pushed to demonstrate how private businesses can exist for good and use their influence to create meaningful change”, said Mette Lykke, CEO, Too Good To Go.“Since our early days, I’ve seen the conversation move on from questions about how we balance impact and business to now being about how companies and investors in general can do more to create a better future.”
“This recognition is not only thanks to our entire team, but also our partners and users who contribute to creating this impact every day. We’re privileged to be working alongside 100,000+ dedicated partners and millions of engaged users to save food everyday.”
Too Good to Go has a direct impact on the issue of food waste through its app, which connects people and businesses to save food from going to waste, and is the world’s biggest food-saving platform.
In addition, the company runs projects under each of its additional pillars: schools, public affairs, businesses, and households.
Its Date Labelling initiative, active in 11 European countries, tackles the fact that 10% of all food waste can be attributed to confusion over date labelling, and aims to make it clearer when food is still good to eat.
In November 2021 the company was accepted onto the EU Platform on Food Losses and Food Waste, a five-year project bringing together public and private sector players from all EU countries to tackle issues including reducing consumer food waste, removing barriers to food donation, introducing legally binding food waste reduction targets, and addressing food waste linked to date labels.
The list of TIME’s Most Influential Companies is an extension of the annual TIME100 list of the world’s most influential people, and the full list can be viewed here: time.com/100companies.
